The Conundrum of Time...

I was thinking to myself over the last week – why, oh why is it that we never seem to have enough time?
And even though we crave it, we rarely make it happen?
expectation to be productive at all times,
feeling guilty to have a break because it would be 'selfish',
pleasing everyone to avoid conflict,
fear of looking stupid.
Our conditioned thoughts and assumptions get in our way all too often.
Before arriving home from a busy day, you take 3 minutes with a guided meditation in the car to feel calm.
As you enter the front door, your loved one makes a thoughtless remark in response to your 'how are you?'.
Because you are coming from a calm base, you have the capacity to step outside your ego and realise their tone has nothing to do with you at all.
You respond with compassion instead of judgement, and this softens the tension.
They explain what has caused their stress rather than pushing you away.
Creating space to calm your nervous system doesn't just serve you - it ripples out to everyone around you. But it can feel difficult to prioritise.
